January 2025 - District Clerk Announces Retirement

In June, District Clerk Joan McClaughry will retire after 16 years of dedicated service to the district. We sincerely appreciate her commitment and contributions to the community throughout her tenure. Joan joined MRFPD in 2008 after working as a bookkeeper for a local farm, and prior to that, she spent several years in the banking industry. Her extensive experience has brought a sense of calmness and professionalism to her role.

"Joan has been a tremendous asset to the district, and she leaves behind big shoes to fill," Chief Barnes remarked.

Reflecting on her retirement, Joan expressed mixed emotions: "It's bittersweet; I love my job. However, it's time to prioritize my personal time. I look forward to spending more time with my grandchildren and pursuing my passion for gardening."

We are beginning the process of identifying her successor, with the goal of filling the position by March of this year. Joan will remain in her role to ensure a smooth transition and provide necessary training for the incoming Office Administrator.
